Italian composer Ennio Morricone is famous for his film scores as well as his jazz, pop, psychedelia types. He inspired bands such as Air and Metallica. He passed away at the age of 91 on 6th July 2020.

At the age of six he started composing music, but it wouldn’t be until 1961 before he wrote his first soundtrack for the movie “Il Federale”. He is best known for his collaboration with “spaghettiwestern” director Sergio Leone. Morricone composed the soundtrack for ‘For a fistful of dollars’, ‘For a few dollars more’, ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’, ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’, ‘Down the Head’, and ‘Once Upon a Time in America’.

His music also featured in films such as “The Thing,” “What Dreams May Come,” “The Mission,” “The Untouchables,” and “The Hateful Eight.” In total, he composed 500 soundtracks for films and TV programs and about 120 other compositions. He sold over 50 million records!
